Todo dia é dia de índio?
Sim! Não adianta lembrar dos índios apenas um dia.
Eles fazem parte de nossa história.
Por serem importantes, foi reservada uma data no calendário anual para comemorar o Dia do Índio.
Quer saber por que esse dia?
Bem, é que nessa data, no ano de 1940, foi realizado o I Congresso Indígena da América Latina, no México, com objetivo de divulgar a cultura indígena em toda a América e também para que os governos criassem normas em relação à qualidade de vida dos povos indígenas, que ainda sofriam com a discriminação do homem branco.

Prima dell'arrivo degli sploratori europei, 5 milioni di persone vivevano nel continente nordamericano.
Cristoforo Colombo li chiamò Indiani perchè pensava che lui fosse arrivato nelle Indie da una diversa rotta marittima.
I nativi americani formavano varie tribù, spesso in conflitto le une con le altre, ognuna che parlava il proprio linguaggio.
Alcune di queste tribù erano gli Iroquis, i Cheyenne, Sioux, Comanches, Navajos, Apaches e Shoshone.
I Nativi seguivani differenti stili di vita. I Sioux, ad esempio, erano nomadi. Vivevano in tende chiamate "tepees" ( taipis ) e cacciavano buffalo sulle Grandi Pianure. Le tribù che vivevano nelle aree forestali dell'Est costruivano villaggi e case di legno e coltivavano la terra. Nell'arido sud-ovest, invece, varie tribù vivevano in pueblos, che erano piccole case fatte di pietra o fango.
Quelli che vivevano sulle zone costiere erano fisherman, pescatori. Ma tutti i Nativi dividevano un profondo rispetto per la natura e onoravano gli elderly, gli anziani delle loro tribù.
I conquistatori bianchi, con i conquistadores, invasero i loro territori causando molte battaglie sanguinosissime.
Alla fine, la US Federal Army sconfisse gli indiani e coloro che sopravvisero vennero confinati in riserve indiane.
Oggi, molti Nativi si sono completamente ambientati con lo stile di vita occidentale e si sono perfettamente integrati nella società attuale, ma coloro che continuano a vivere nelle riserve sono particolarmente vigilanti alle loro tradizioni.

The earth, the nature, the dead, mother, father, child, animals etc. Now i see you have a day, dedicated to honor the indians, who have been abused, exploited and expelled from their living grounds , by all those who occupied Brazil, who came to Brazil to exploit and make money by abusing the nature and destroying what is left of the original beauty of our planet.
If, from the beginning we had a little self respect, we would respect, we would have respected everything from the beginning.. and there would be no need to invent special days to honor what we destroyed in the first place..
